Tiger tears off arms of circus worker; Circus planned to move to Belize

Posted: Thursday, February 8, 2018. 7:41 am CST.

BBN Staff: According to reports from The Sun, a circus worker from Guatemala lost his two arms yesterday.

The circus worker, Cipriano Alvarez was feeding 13 tigers in a makeshift cage in El Jocotillo Village, Guatemala.

Locals saved Alvarez’ life by fighting off the animals with sticks to release him.

Local doctors managed to keep him alive with an emergency surgery and unfortunately his arms couldn’t be saved.

Alvarez began feeding the 13 tigers two months ago and reports are that he normally used metal rods to remove plates of the animals.

Alvarez is now in an intensive care unit at a local hospital.

Environmental officials confirmed that 13 tigers, a llama, and a camel were being kept in the village.

The report also said the site was being used temporarily by the circus owners before a permanent move to Belize was scheduled to take place.
