Recovered firearm may be stolen police gun

By BBN Staff: Police are reviewing the serial number on a gun, which was recovered in Orange Walk, to see if the gun was one stolen from the western police jurisdiction some time ago.

According to police, cops on patrol in Orange Walk observed a suspicious man on Santa Lucia street. Cops noticed him hiding something under a car, but when he was approached by police, he was searched but nothing was found. Cops say the suspect was then able to escape from police on the scene but cops later found the .38 revolver that he had hidden.

Crimes Investigation Branch Commander, ASP Alejandro Cowo told the media that police are reviewing the serial number and are seeking the suspect.
