By BBN Staff: Oceana Belize is calling on volunteers to support its follow-up cleanup campaign on Sea Shore Drive, tomorrow (Friday, February 23).
The activity will run from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. starting at the Brodies parking lot on the Philip Goldson highway.
The campaign follows an initial cleanup, held on February 10, at the request of residents who were appalled at the amount of garbage along the water front.
Oceana assembled a team of 60 volunteers and removed over 50, 30-gallon bags of garbage; however, there was a lot left over.
Ocean Belize District Field Representative, Celesha Guy, is encouraging organizations, community groups and civic-minded individuals to join in on the effort because a healthy environment is beneficial to all Belizeans.
