By BBN Staff: The Government of Belize today announced that the upcoming United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) country visit to Belize by the governmental experts from Haiti and Tuvalu, scheduled for February 27th to March 1st, 2018, has been postponed.
The visit is now rescheduled for July 10-12, 2018.
The postponement is as a result of one of the governmental experts from Tuvalu being unable to acquire the necessary travel documents and authorization in time for the impending country visit.
Consequently, in order to maintain the objective and impartial character of the Implementation Review Mechanism and to ensure participation of both reviewing States, an agreement was reached to postpone the country visit.
The country visit forms a vital part of the country review process in regards to the implementation of the UNCAC.
