According to the Mexican embassy, the trip’s program includes the presentation of the final construction project of the Mexico Sports Hall at the Marion Jones sporting complex in Belize city by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS); the signing of an memorandum of understanding between Belize’s Ministry of Education and AMEXCID for 25 half-scholarships to students of Escuela Secondaria Tecnica.
The visit will also include the official inauguration of the Olmec head replica gifted to Belize by the government of Mexico during Mexican president, Enrique Pena Nieto’s visit last October. The visit, according to the Mexican embassy, represents the importance with which Mexico views its strategic partnership with Belize.
