Man accused of brutal rape charged

BBN Staff: 21-year-old man was charged with ‘dangerous harm’ yesterday in connection with the alleged rape of his 17-month old stepdaughter.

The charge is the first of more expected to be brought against him as the situation develops, especially if the child does not survive the ordeal.

Belizeans in country and abroad have expressed disgust via various platforms since Thursday, when it was alleged that the child was vaginally and anally raped. Reports indicated that the child was unresponsive and may have been taken off of life support last night; however, Breaking Belize News has not been able to confirm if that is the case.

BBN takes this opportunity to remind Belizeans that posting the name and the photograph of someone before they are officially charged will prejudice the case in court and may result in the person being released because of it.
