By BBN Staff: Roni Chan, 29, a Belizean tour guide of Cotton Tree village reported that around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday while socializing with a friend at the park on Rio Hondo Street, Belmopan, two men with rags covering their faces approached them with a gun and demanded the keys to Chan’s Ford Escape.
Chan complied and handed over the keys. The ford escape is valued at $11,000. The men then robbed Chan’s friend of a gold chain and a cell phone.
The culprits then drove off in Chan’s vehicle. The vehicle was later found overturned on the George Price Boulevard.
Police are investigating.
