BNTU to take action against recent spike in crimes

Posted: Tuesday, March 13, 2018. 11:29 am CST.

BBN Staff: Today, the Belize National Teachers Union (BNTU) issued a release informing the nation that the union is saddened by the recent spike in violent acts against women and children in Belize.

The BNTU condemns these acts of violence and calls on the Government of Belize to spare no resource both human and financial to attack these occurrences.

The union demands that government identify and implement measures to ensure the safety and protection of women and children.

“ The perpetrators of these heinous crimes must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” the BNTU says in the release.

The union stands in solidarity with the families of the victims seeking justice and reaffirmed that it stands ready to take action to demonstrate their seriousness in ensuring that appropriate measures are taken to secure our children’s safety and their lives.
