Man dies in fatal traffic accident

BBN Staff: Last night around  7:00, police responded to a report of a road traffic accident on the Stann Creek Valley Road.

There, police saw Miguel Angel Sanchez, 69, Salvadoran of Valley Community, lying on his stomach on the side of the road.

Sanchez sustained injuries to his head.

Investigations revealed that Sanchez was walking on the Stann Creek Valley Road at mile 18 when he was hit by a Nissan Altima.

The Nissan was driven at the time by Alfred Cardinez.

Sanchez was transported to the Southern Regional Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Cardinez was detained and served with a Notice of Intended Prosecution.

Police investigations continue.
