Truck driver that hit minor served with NIP

BBN Staff: According to police reports, on Sunday, March 11, police responded to a report of road traffic accident on the Belize Corozal Road in Orange Walk district.

When police arrived, cops saw a 17 year old boy with bodily injuries.

The minor was transported by ambulance to the Northern Regional Hospital.

According to police, the boy had an altercation with 2 men and was punched down causing him to fall on the road.

While he was on the road, a green Bedford truck later ran him over, causing his injuries.

The truck was driven by Sergio Talango, 33, of Orange Walk.

Talango was detained and a urine sample was obtained. He was also served with a Notice of Intended Persecution.

The minor is undergoing treatment and is listed  in a critical but stable condition.

Police investigations continue.
