By BBN Staff: Yesterday, George Lovell, the current CEO of the Ministry of National Security informed the media that the new Ministry of National Security headed by Minister John Saldivar will have two new CEO’s.
Lovell told 7 News Belize that he and Felix Enriquez will be the CEO’s on Saldivar’s new Ministry.
“I feel good about this simply because when I was the CEO for the then Ministry of National Security before it was broken down into Defense and Home affairs we had a lot of good things going. During the time, we had Ministry of National Security was when we had the formation of the National Forensic Science Service as a separate department and there are lots of good things going on there. I see where there will be greater synergies in terms of bringing together what the defense portion brings to law and order and security,” Lovell told the media.
On Sunday, March 18th, PM Barrow announced to the nation that he was amalgamating the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Defense into one Ministry – the Ministry of National Security, and appointed John Saldivar, the area representative for the Belmopan division to head the new Ministry.
It is important to note that in the past, the Ministry of National Security functioned with only one CEO.
