Newly elected Municipal Councils attend training

By BBN Staff: Every three years, the Ministry of Local Government is responsible for giving an introductory training of the newly elected Town and City Mayors and councilors throughout Belize.

The two-day training is being concluded today.

Chief Executive Officer in the Ministry of Labour, Local Government, & Rural Development, Kerry Belisle informed that the training entails areas of responsibility for councilors and for updating them on programs done through the ministry.

In relation to a change in councils, Belisle explained that some members of the new council may not be as informed as others as to the programs and economic initiatives that were underway in their municipalities before.
