Manatee found dead

BBN Staff: This morning, a manatee was found dead in the Belize river in Belize City.

The manatee was mutilated. It had several large cuts around its body.

There were several sightings of an injured manatee earlier in the week by a boat captain and it is believed to be the same manatee who drifted more to the south of the river.
