Canada’s PM, Justin Trudeau meets with CARICOM states

By BBN Staff:  A delegation led by Foreign Minister  Wilfred Elrington is currently in Lima, Peru representing Belize at the 8th Summits of the Americas.

The delegation also includes UNCAC Focal Point, Attorney General  Michael Peyrefitte and Belize’s Ambassador to the United States and OAS, H.E. Daniel Guiterrez.

 The Summits, held every three years, offers the opportunity for the leaders to jointly define a hemispheric agenda at the highest level that addresses urgent challenges and promotes positive change.

The Heads of State and Government of the Americas will address the central theme of the Summit, “Democratic Governance against Corruption.”

This afternoon, representatives from CARICOM met with Prime Minister of Canada  Justin Trudeau to discuss trade and the situation with Venezuela.
