By BBN Staff: Belizean Brian Hyde who is accused of murdering his three family members ( Dorla Pitts,37, Starlette Pitts,17, and Starlett’s boyfriend Micheal Kelly,19) on August 11, 2015 in the USA will have a second trial.

Hyde’s first trial ended in a mistrial in January after the state’s leading witness testified about Hyde’s immigrant status in the United States.

Hyde is a resident of Roaring Creek village, Cayo District, and was 19 years old at the time when the triple homicide occurred.

Police detained Hyde just hours after they had found the bodies of his relatives  in Leigh Acres in Florida.

According to U.S. media reports, Dorla Pitts, Hyde’s aunt took him in after he crossed into the U.S. through Texas and the case gained notoriety after Hyde was used as an example by national media of an undocumented immigrant and dangerous crime.

The State of Florida and the defense have 57 people to choose from for a six-person jury Monday morning according to a USA media report.

The trial is expected to last between four to five days, including jury selection.
