CNBC highlights Belize as top Central American travel destination

Posted: Wednesday, April 18, 2018. 9:05 am CST.

BBN Staff:  Globally renowned news organization CNBC, in a recently published travel writing article, named Belize as one of the most popular destinations that Americans are traveling to instead of the Caribbean.

The article, done in collaboration with the travel agency Travelwize, said that Belize, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama are even attracting visitors who were usually bound for Mexico.

Alyse Cori, owner of Travelwize, said that the Central American countries are attracting increasing amounts of visitors because they have more to offer than just beaches and resorts.

“You can immerse yourself. You get the best of both worlds. It’s not flat,” Cori said.

She highlighted the Blue Hole and Barrier Reef as our major attractions, noting that water activities form a part of Belize’s allure.

“It’s a scuba divers dream,” she added.

The international recognition adds to a growing list of accolades Belize has received since the start of 2018, including a segment on ABC 15 in Arizona and Rough Guides, a respected United Kingdom-based travel guidebook and reference publisher.
