After 7 years locked up, man freed of murder charge

By BBN Staff: Kareem “Yankee” Francis, 28, is the latest person to walk free from a murder charge.

His charges date back to April 2011 when he had allegedly entered a Chinese shop on Faber’s Road and opened fire on Lan Wu, 36.

Wu, a mother of two, succumbed to her injuries immediately.

In court on Thursday, Francis was represented by attorney Oscar Selgado.

However, there would be no trial because the prosecution, led by Killeru Awich, entered a nolle prosequi because the main witness could not be located.

With that, Justice Colin Williams freed Francis of the charge against him.
