Orange Walk student dies in fatal traffic accident

By BBN Staff:  Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident that occurred this morning on the Philip Goldson Highway.

According to reports, the incident happened around 3 AM.

Ever Hosmel Uk, 25, of Guinea Grass Village was driving a GMC flatbed truck with a wooden building measuring 24×32 on the Phillip Goldson Highway, and upon reaching miles 41, a Toyota Hilux driven by Daniel Urbina, 25, (a student of Palmar Village) that was travelling in the opposite direction collided into the structure.

The collision caused extensive damage to the left upper portion of the Toyota Hilux and caused severe head injuries to the driver.

Passenger Rony Pech, 22, of Yo Creek Village suffered minor injuries.

Uk is presently in police custody.

The body of Daniel Urbina was pronounced dead at the Northern Regional Hospital.

Police are investigating.
