Alleged bank thieves released on bail

BBN Staff: Two men who reside in western Belize are accused of stealing $10,000 each from Heritage Ban.

They are Damion Dawson, 27, and Jonathan Almendarez, 21.

Yesterday, they appeared before Chief Magistrate, Sharon Frazer, to answer charges.

It is alleged that last October, Almendarez withdrew money from a customer’s account with the assistance from Dawson who had worked with the bank and facilitated the illegal transactions.

It was all caught on camera.

In court despite objections from the prosecution, both men were offered bail in the sum of $3,000.

The case was adjourned until July 2, 2018.
