By BBN Staff: A Bulgarian man accused of stealing from a man’s bank account in Belize is now in prison.

Yesterday Vasil Stoyanov Kadalov, 41, appeared before Magistrate Aretha Ford to answer to two counts of theft.

He pleaded not guilty but was remanded to prison because he poses a flight risk.

On June 6th he is to return to court.

His charges came after Donald Stuart told police that $2,000 had gone missing from his Atlantic Bank account.

When Stuart visited the bank he was shown evidence of how the withdrawals were made.

Stuart maintained, however, that he did not make those transactions.

It is not yet known how the Bulgarian national was linked to the crime.
