By BBN Staff: Yesterday Orlando Ciedos, 33, walked from charges relating to the murder of Edilsar Juárez, 21.
That is because in the Dangriga Supreme Court the prosecution entered a nolle prosequi indicating that they did not want to continue the trial.
Their reluctance came after the defense argued that a confession statement given by the accused was given out of duress.
The accused was allegedly beaten by police to confess to the crime.
With that, the case immediately fell apart.
On October 9, 2016, Juarez was attacked by a machete man who chopped him to death.
The crime scene was at an apartment in Bella Vista Village, Toledo, which he had shared with Ciedos.
