By BBN Staff:Today, the Ambassador of the Republic of Peru accredited to Belize, Jorge E. Román Morey, paid a farewell visit to the Government of Belize.
Morey held a bilateral meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Wilfred Elrington and Chief Executive Officer in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pat Andrews to discuss topics of mutual interest and cooperation.
The Government of Belize and the Government of the Republic of Peru also signed a Framework Agreement on Friendship and Technical Cooperation aimed at promoting and deepening the mutually beneficial friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Areas for cooperation set out in the agreement include cultural and human development, sustainable development, and environmental protection.
Morey also launched a Peruvian photographic exhibit at the Mexican Institute and donated indigenous musical instruments to the Samuel Haynes Institute of Excellence.
Elrington bid farewell to Morey and thanked him for paving the way for future collaborations between Belize and Peru.
Belize and Peru share excellent ties since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1991.
