Chamber of Commerce elects new executive

By BBN Staff: Yesterday, the Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) held their 98th Annual General Meeting.

President Nikita Usher gave an overview and reported on his accomplishments for the year 2017.

Treasurer, Marcello Blake delivered the presentation and adoption of the 2017 Financial Statements and elaborated on the chamber’s current financial position and the decisions that were made.

Guest speaker at the meeting was Mihaela Stojkoska, Senior Anti-Corruption Expert of the UNDP in Fiji.

She provided the private sector with resources that they can access to assist them in creating measures that will minimize corruption in the business environment.

The BCCI elected their new executive board for the 2018 to 2020 term.

Usher was again elected President of the BCCI.

Other members of the board include:

Arturo Vasquez – Immediate Past President

Allen Reimer – V.P. Industry

Marcello Blake- V.P. Commerce

Marissa Longsworth- V.P. Services

Giacomo Sanchez- Treasurer

Ashanti Arthurs-Martin- Secretary.

Ten candidates vied for five councilor posts. The 5 councilors that won are Gilbert Canton Jr., Andree King,  William Usher, Katherine Meighan, and Ted Tejada.


The BCCI is the largest private sector organization in Belize.
