San Ignacio police charge 1 man for UNO robbery

By BBN Staff: San Ignacio police have formally arrested and charged Marvin Phillips, 19, a construction worker of George street, Belize City for the robbery of $33,000 at the UNO gas station on the Benque Viejo road on Monday.

Police have three more suspects detained pending charges. Police believed the robbery was masterminded by well known Belize city criminals.

On Monday morning around 11:00, two unmasked men strolled into the gas station and pointed a .9mm gun at the cashier. After taking the money, the men ran out of the building.

The ordeal was caught on security cameras and civilians passing by also recorded the incident.

Charges are expected to be levied on the other 3 accomplices tomorrow.
