Book: Superstition A Belizean Snapshot to be launched on May 3

Posted: Tuesday, May 1, 2018. 9:04 am CST.

BBN Staff:Belizean writer, Sharon Marin Lewis will debut her new book: Superstition, A Belizean Snapshot on Thursday, May 3, 2018, at 7 pm at the Image Factory in Belize City.

Marin-Lewis delves into the world of superstition in Belize, by colorfully capturing the most common ones pertaining to related behavior even from Belize’s early existence as a British colony.

The writer takes her personal experiences from growing up around superstitious people and combines them with the stories of others, who shared their superstitions and related experiences.

Superstitions associated with death, dreams, birth, pregnancy, marriage, and luck are just some of the highlights included in this literary ode to culture.

Belizeans and friends of Belize will be intrigued by the details and will be able to identify with at least 1 of the over 65 superstitions discussed in the book.

The event will be hosted by Melanie Price and will feature book signing, prizes, and entertainment.
