Martha Pulido of Cornerstone is US Embassy’s May Wonder Woman

Posted: Wednesday, May 2, 2018. 11:29 am CST.

BBN Staff: Every month the United States Embassy in Belize highlights a ‘wonder woman’ who has contributed positively to Belize’s development.

The Embassy has now announced Martha Pulido, who leads the Cornerstone Foundation Belize feeding program, as May’s Wonder Woman of the month.

Pulido works from early mornings to late nights prepping food for many children and elderly citizens who are less fortunate and cannot afford a nutritious meal.

She also spends her free time volunteering at the Octavia Waight Centre and the local hospital, where she cares for and nurtures patients.

Pulido’s home is open to students from other countries, so they can get the real experience of living in Belize. She has been hosting college students for internships and study abroad programs for many years.

Pulido embodies the characteristics of empowerment and courage, yet caring, which has impacted so many people in her community.

BBN congratulates Pulido on her selection as Wonder Woman of the month!
