By BBN Staff: The Embassy of Mexico in Belize today announced the inauguration of the photographic exhibition Las Mujeres Flores (The Flower Women) by Eunice Adorno, which will be presented at the Corozal House of Culture from May 9 to June 10, 2018.
The exhibition will be opened on May 9, at 10:00 a.m.
Mexican photographer Eunice Adorno was able to gain access to these isolated groups, living among them and documenting their customs.
Intrigued particularly by the Mennonite women she met, Adorno made their inner world and their lives the focus of her work, following them through their daily rituals as they would elaborately braid and coil their hair, play with their children, and work at home.
Photographer, Eunice Adorno was born in Mexico City.
She has won the Fernando Benitez National Cultural Journalism Award in the field of photojournalism in 2010 for The Flower Women project.
She started her career as a photojournalist more than ten years ago, and now she works on long-term documentary initiatives.
