By BBN Staff: A family of six was almost chopped up with machetes on Orange Wall District over the weekend.
Clarissa Mai reported to police that at about 5 a.m. on Sunday she was at her home in Trial Farm Village when several young persons, mostly men, approached her home.
One of the men struck her son with a bicycle and proceeded to beat him up while a female attacked her daughter while she was holding her baby.
The toddler fell to the street and her daughter continued to be beaten by the woman.
According to Mai, the mob was armed with machetes and stones and attempted to break down her home.
She believes that they were under the influence of alcohol.
When asked why anyone would want to attack her family, Mai told CTV3 that it is because her family spoke to one of the neighbors that had a conflict with members of the angry mob.
Following the assault, a police report was made and the Mai family slept at the homes of other relatives.
Mai’s son and her husband were left with chop wounds to their feet.
Mai revealed that this was the second attack on her family since last year.
Fearful and concerned, she hopes for justice.
