6 year old injured in a Belize City shooting incident

BBN Staff:Belize City police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred yesterday morning in the old capital.

According to police, yesterday around 10, they went to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital and saw six-year-old Lemar Orellano with an injury to the upper right side of his back.

Police investigation revealed that Orellano was seated in the rear passenger seat of a white taxi Dodge Caravan driven by William Garbutt when around Central American Boulevard they heard several shots.

The shots damaged the rear windshield of the vehicle injuring the kid.

A medical examiner confirmed that Orellano’s injuries were from fragments of broken glass.

Police are investigating.
