Harvey was a local star and for the last two decades he had become a fixture at the corner of South and Albert streets, where he made his living selling snow cones, bananas and oranges.
Last Monday he was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) where he was diagnosed with an advance state of pneumonia.
He was released and allowed to return to his Partridge Street home in Belize city, where he lost his battle with the disease at around 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
His niece, Nichole McDonald, to whom he was a father-figure, told BBN that he died peacefully.
She remembers him as a jovial and humble man, who only dressed fancy to his mother’s funeral eighteen years ago.
According to her, Harvey never drank alcohol, smoked or used profanities.
Additionally, he never owned a Social Security card as he opted for self-employment as he feared being exploited by employers.
Harvey, a public figure in his own right, leaves behind no wife and children.
