Three Orange Walk men face upgraded manslaughter charge

Today, the charges that were levied against the three men accused of beating him were upgraded to manslaughter because the victim succumbed.

On Thursday, May 10, police had arrested and charged Leodegario Chan, 26; Carlos Westby, 24, and Delthran Perez, 28, of Trial Farm each for ‘dangerous harm’.

The incident occurred two weeks ago, when Demetrio Patt was in the passenger seat and his brother crashed into a parked car in Trial Farm.

The owner of the car along with two other men allegedly beat up the two brothers.

Patt, however, sustained major injuries as a result and was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH), where he was put on life support before he passed away.
