Posted: Tuesday, May 15, 2018. 9:45 am CST.

BBN Staff:Last week, two clerks from the Belize City Registry Department were busted for forging two certificates.

The Registar General called the police and reported the men, Alvan Alvarez and Benedict Pascacio. On Friday, both men were arrested and charged for the crime.

In an interview with Channel 5 News, Assistant Superintendent Alejandro Cowo informed that on May 8, around 3:00 p.m., police visited the Registrar General at the Supreme Court building on Regent Street and were told that several documents appeared to be forged.

Police investigations revealed that the seal on the documents were tampered with and the documents were indeed forged.

The birth certificate and a marriage certificate also costed the men their jobs.
