By BBN Staff:Commander of Eastern Division Region One, Howell Gillett continues to engage the children and youths of the community.
Today, Gillett announced that the children from the division will benefit from the first ever Youth Engaged in Agriculture program in the community.
The program is scheduled to commence in July.
The tentative dates are from July 16 to 20 for kids from Region One and children from the Belmopan jurisdiction will participate from July 23 to 27.
On July 28, the children will participate in a grand rodeo at the National Agriculture and Trade Show grounds.
The children will experience the cheese making process, vegetable production, horse husbandry, tilapia rearing, grafting, budding, make salsa casera and animal castration among other areas.
Gillett thanked CEO in the Ministry of Agriculture, Jose Alpuche for his contributions and all the stakeholders involved.
“Together we will change the course of our young people through positive engagement,” Gillett stated.
