Police investigating shooting at Belmopan Mayor’s home

BBN Staff: Belmopan police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Monday night in the Cohune Walk area of Belmopan.

Belmopan Mayor Khalid Belisle told police that around 10:30 p.m., he was inside his home with his fiancé when they heard gunshots.

The front of his home had bullet holes and a parked car in front of the home was seen with a punctured tire and damage to the right front passenger door.

Police recovered eight .9mm expended shells from the scene.

Police investigations continue.
