Man shot in Palmar village, Orange Walk

By BBN Staff: Yesterday at around 11:15 PM, police received reports of a shooting incident in San Jose Palmar Village, Orange Walk District.

According to reports, Jose Santana, 32, was shot. Police say that when they arrived at the scene they found him with one gunshot wound to his right arm.

Santana told authorities that while he was exiting his gate, someone shot him.

Police found 8 expended 9mm shells in an unoccupied and overgrown lot which is located across the street from Santana’s property.

Authorities believe that the person that shot Santana was hiding in the abandoned lot with overgrown bushes.

Santana was admitted into the Northern Regional Hospital where he was treated and discharged.

Police are investigating.
