By BBN Staff: Fans of the English royal family woke up early on Saturday morning to watch history in the making as Prince Harry and American actress Meghan Markle said ‘I do’.
The grandeur event was carried live on many television and Facebook channels.
But, Meghan took with her down the aisle, the flowers of 12 Caribbean countries including Belize’s very own Black Orchid.
The Black Orchid is the national flower of Belize and it made history on Saturday as part of the distinctive Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy veil worn by Meghan Markle, now the Duchess of Sussex.
The decision to have the flowers on the veil came from Markle’s wish of having all 53 countries of the Commonwealth with her on her journey to wed Prince Harry.
The flowers were worked flat, in three dimensions for the unique design.
Today, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex released three official photos.
