Fish vendor shot dead inside Michael Finnegan market

By BBN Staff:Belize City police are investigating a shooting incident this morning that claimed the life of a woman and left another man in the hospital.

This morning around 10:00, police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) and saw Michelle Anderson, 40, a fish vendor by trade, suffering from a single gunshot wound to the left side of her chest.

Police also saw, Nelson Joel Aguilar, a Salvadoran national, suffering from a gunshot wound to the left thigh.

Police investigations revealed that Anderson and Aguilar were inside a stall at the Michael Finnegan Market when a man approached them and fired several shots at them.

Anderson succumbed to the injuries.

Aguilar is admitted a stable condition.

Police investigations continue.
