By BBN Staff:The Belize Bureau of Standards (BBS) has issued a release with new increases in gas prices effective midnight tonight.
BBN readers will recall that fuel prices were hiked just 6 days ago.
Premium gas will increase by 31 cents — going up from $11.36 to $11.67 a gallon.
Regular fuel will increase by 21 cents —go up from $11.14 to $11.35
Diesel will increase by 3 cents — from $10.60 to $10.63.
Kerosene will remain the same at $7.75 a gallon.
On April 4, butane prices were hiked by a whopping $10 more per 100 pounds cylinder.
Last week in a Press conference, Prime Minister Dean Barrow informed that because of the acquisition costs, the price of fuel would see more increases. “ I want to make clear that as all the world, we are going to be in for a difficult time in terms of fuel prices because of the acquisition costs, the global costs of oil is increasing at a rate that small countries such as ours is alarming,” Barrow stated.
