Boledo winner murdered for his winnings

BBN Staff:  Carlton Moreira, 35, a Mayflower street resident was killed on Wednesday afternoon in a robbery attempt gone bad, according to police. Moreira was reportedly targeted for his winnings from the Boledo draw which he had reportedly won the night before.

Moreira, was reportedly walking through an alley in the area and was approached by two men, who fired shots in his direction. Moreira was shot to the right cheek.

Police suspect that Morerra was shot because he had recently collected his winnings and was believed to have had the money on him. Police have yet to confirm if anything was taken from Moreira.

Police announced yesterday that investigators are seeking another resident of the area, Jordan Burns, in connection with the murder.

Investigations are ongoing.
