David Dido Vega wins convention for Corozal Bay

By BBN Staff:  David Dido Vega is the new standard bearer of the   People’s United Party (PUP)  in the Corozal Bay constituency.

With a voter turnout of 2,042 voters, he grabbed 1,079 votes.

In second place was Thea Garcia who received 407 votes.

She is a relative of Gregorio Garcia, the former standard-bearer of the division.

In third place was Alex Ewens who received 327 votes.

As was reported, he had been supported by the Mayor of Corozal Town, Rigo Vellos.

Shamir Alpuche, a sitting Corozal Town Councilor who topped the polls on March 7th Municipal Elections only managed to grab 169 votes.

In last place was political unknown Dado Torres who grabbed 26 votes.

There were 34 spoilt votes and 2 rejected.
