Police searching for suspects that robbed PG Store of over $30,000

By BBN Staff: Police are investigating an armed robbery at James store in Punta Gorda (PG).

On Sunday morning around 9, Huigiang Chen, owner of James Store in PG reported that while he was sleeping in his bedroom, his wife Yanhi Huang knocked on his room door.

Chen told police that when he opened the door, he saw two men armed with guns.

The men entered his room pointing their firearms at his wife’s head and demanded money and his firearm.

Chen handed over a plastic bag containing $20,000.00 in cash and his 9mm gun along with a magazine containing (15) 9mm live rounds of ammunition.

The gun and ammo are valued at $4,300.00.

The culprits searched the store and took an additional $300.00 in cash, (2) cell phones and the surveillance machine.

All items to a total value of $31,300.00.

Police are investigating.
