Alfonso Noble to stand trial in the death of Gilbert Myers

By BBN Staff:  Alfonso Noble, editor of the Guardian Newspaper, and co-host of Wave Radio & TV thought he got off the hook last year when he dished out over a hundred thousand dollars to the family of Gilbert Myers.

However, that is not the case.

7News reported yesterday that Senior Magistrate Aretha committed Noble to stand trial in the October session of the Supreme Court for killing Myers.

On the night of December 24, 2016, Noble was driving a red truck which struck Myers off his bicycle between miles 3 and 4 of the George Price Highway.

Noble was subsequently charged with, manslaughter by negligence, causing death by careless conduct, driving a motor vehicle without due care and attention, and failing to provide specimen to police for testing.

Noble had failed to provide specimen on the count that it was against his religious belief as an avid Jehovah’s Witness.

7News revealed that during yesterday’s preliminary inquiry, Magistrate Aretha Ford indicated that Myers was riding on the side of the road during the accident and that it was possible that Noble was speeding.
