Attempted arson of newly opened corn tortilla factory in Santa Elena, Cayo

BBN Staff: An arsonist/s targeted Popular tortilla mill, Rony’s Tortilla in Santa Elena Town this morning.

Reports to BBN is that sometime early this morning before 4, someone threw a kerosene bomb, made up of a bottle of kerosene and a wick, on the steps of the newly established mill in Santa Elena Town.

Rony’s Tortilla is originally from Orange Walk Town who opened a new branch in Santa Elena Town only two months ago.

Their white and yellow corn tortillas along with their new, delicious products have quickly become a hit with residents and the business community in the San Ignacio and Santa Elena.

Police are investigating this latest arson attempt.
