The hurricane season runs from now to November.
Forecasters are predicting that this year’s season will be above average.
The season was off to an early start with first named storm Alberto earlier this week.
Last month, Colorado State University research team made public their predictions that this season would see 14 named storms.
They also predict that seven of the storms will become hurricanes and three will be major hurricanes.
The World Meteorological Organization has released the 21 names that made it on the list for 2018.
The names are used in a six-year rotation. However, if a storm was catastrophic, the name is no longer used.
Names chosen for the Atlantic tropical storms for 2018 are:

Ernesto
Florence
Gordon
Helene
Isaac
Joyce
Kirk
Leslie
Michael
Nadine
Oscar
Patty
Rafael
Sara

Valerie
William
Last year’s hurricane season saw destructive Hurricanes Irma, Nate, Harvey, and Maria.
