By BBN Staff: The 24th Bowen and Bowen National Spelling Bee finals took place this morning at the Civic Centre in Belize City.
Twelve students from all 6 districts across Belize participated.
Among the schools represented were, Louisville RC, Calcutta Government School, La Immaculada RC, Nuevo San Juan, Pancotto Primary, Hummingbird Elementary, Kuxlin Ha Government School, Ontario Christian School, Light of the Valley Baptist, United Community Primary School and the Toledo Christian Academy.
At the end of the four challenging rounds, Bryce Steuer of Toledo Christian Academy was declared the champion speller, with the word “Bhutan”.
Eric Wade of La Immaculada RC received second place and third place went to Sierra Steuer of Toledo Christian Academy.
Bryce earned himself a 4 Year Tuition & Book Grant provided by Ministry of Education, Trophy & Dell Laptop, laptop bag & wireless mouse from Bowen and Bowen, Internship from Benny’s Enterprises, Debit Gift Card valued at $500 + Heritage gift basket from Heritage Bank Ltd and One Samsung Galaxy S8 + 1 year 4G Data Plan (12GB) from Digicell.
Wade, the second place winner went home with a Year Tuition & Book Grant provided by Ministry of Education, Dell Laptop from Bowen and Bowen, Debit Gift Card valued at $300 + Heritage gift basket from Heritage Bank Ltd and One Huawei Y7 + 1 year 4G Data Plan (12GB) from Digicell.
Sierra, the third place winner took home 1 Year Tuition & Book Grant provided by Ministry of Education, Dell Laptop from Bowen and Bowen, Debit Gift Card valued at $200 + Heritage gift basket from Heritage Bank Ltd and One Samsung J7 + 1 Year 4G Data Plan (12GB) from Digicell.
