Man, 20, stabbed in Belize City while attending basketball finals

By BBN Staff:  Tyrique Garbutt, 20, was stabbed on Friday, June 1st by an unknown individual while attending the National Elite Basketball League (NEBL) finals at the Civic Center in Belize City.

Garbut and the man who stabbed him had reportedly gotten into an altercation which resulted in him being stabbed once to his upper right arm, and once to the left side of the chest.

He was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) where he is in a stable condition but is currently awaiting surgery.

Police investigations are ongoing
