Posted: Thursday, June 7, 2018. 2:25 pm CST.

BBN Staff:  Today, Ambassador of Taiwan to Belize, Charles Liu presented a $7,600 cheque to Howell Gillett, Commander of Eastern Division Region One in Belize City.

The funds will be used to implement farming in schools projects at three schools namely Saint Martin’s, Saint Luke, and Saint John’s Vianney Primary.

The Ministry of Agriculture will assist the Belize Police with a similar project at All Saints Primary.

The objective of the project is to augment the existing feeding programs in these schools.

“We hold the conviction that no child should go hungry to school. If we are serious about fighting crime then we must do all we can to deliver young people into successful adults,” Gillett stated.

Following the presentation of the cheque, Ambassador Liu and Commander Gillett toured different areas of Region One and handed out footballs to five different primary schools.
