Orange Walk man busted for drug trafficking

BBN Staff: Yesterday at around 12:40 p.m., a police search conducted at the residence of Luis Alberto Montejo, 39, from Guinea Grass village, Orange Walk, led to the discovery of large amounts of marijuana.

Montejo was seen by police, standing beside a vehicle and upon witnessing their approach, threw a plastic bag underneath.

Police then retrieved the bag, which contained 15 grams of marijuana. This then led to a search of the vehicle, where police found 527 grams of cannabis.

Montejo has since been detained pending charges.
