The publication revealed that 3 in every 5 persons aged 15-24 had experienced sexual intercourse.
Additionally, 1 in every 20 females aged 15 to 24 had engaged in sex before age 15.
For the same age span, it revealed that 3 in every 20 males had sex before age 15.
We note that the legal minimum age for consensual sexual intercourse is age 16.
The publication further revealed that 1 in every 50 females aged 15 to 24 had engaged in sex with more than one partner within 12 months. For males in the same age grouping, 1 in every 10 had engaged in sex with more than one partner within the last 12 months.
According to the publication, 3 in every 5 of those females in the age group, reported that a condom was used the last time they had sex. For males, 7 in every 10 reported using condoms.
This publication then provided an insight into the population’s sexual health, in which it was revealed that of persons aged 15-49 about 45.8% of females had a comprehensive knowledge of the transmission of the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). This is in contrast to 46.5% of males.
Of those who had a knowledge of the transmission of HIV, 25.4% of females claimed to have been tested and knew the results while only 21.8% of males claimed the same.
