By BBN Staff: Three-time Mayor of Orange Walk Town, Kevin Bernard, is the newest standard bearer for the People’s United Party in the Orange Walk East Constituency.
Today in a contested election at Louisiana Government School, Mayor Bernard defeated his Orange Walk Town Councilor, Josue Carballo, in a final count of 935 to 827.
Bernard succeeds Carballo who was defeated by Elodio Aragon in the 2015 general election.
Prior to Aragon’s victory, the constituency was represented by Dr. Marco Tulio Mendez who had retired from electoral politics after his name was dragged through the mud.
